Our first panther chameleon, and the reason for everything that followed. He was desperately shy when he arrived and wanted nothing to do with the girls. He has grown into himself since, although he still refuses to eat with an audience.
Schnapps loves being loved. He is the ladies man of the group, always ready to say hello to the girls, and never in any doubt that he is worth saying hello to.
Our first female, and one of the sweetest animals we have ever kept. She walks straight out onto your hand and settles in to keep you company. She adores her food rather more than is good for her, so we hold the line on portions to keep her from producing more eggs than she should.
Our biggest boy, and proof that a shy chameleon can come around. He used to hide from us and wanted nothing to do with the girls, and now he comes to the door the moment it opens. He has changed color dramatically along the way, from mostly blue and red into turquoise and green.
Debra is sweet as an angel and rarely shies away from anyone. She is happiest stretched out on her basking branch, showing off the soft purple across her cheeks.
Lillian is beautiful and carries a great deal of peachy pink. As far as we can tell she is afraid of absolutely nothing.
Clementine is gorgeous. She has a strawberry and banana look about her, with very faint yellows that peek out through the peach and purple.
Bernard has never been especially interested in people. The girls are another matter entirely, and he will make a break for them the moment his door is open, which keeps us on our toes.
Our littlest one. She looks like a runt and behaves like anything but, with more attitude packed into her than the rest of them put together. Cross her at your peril.
The collection
We started with one panther chameleon in the summer of 2024. Two more followed that winter, then another three in the spring. There was no master plan behind it. We kept falling in love with another chameleon, and before long, those six animals had quietly become the beginning of EctothermInc.
